Novilance

SaaS case study

Nimbus

A developer-cloud website concept reimagined as a retro desktop operating system: draggable windows, a dock, a ⌘K command palette and a terminal that actually runs commands. Designed and built by Novilance to show how a SaaS landing page can become an interactive product demo.

The challenge

Developer-tool landing pages all look alike. The goal was a memorable, interactive first impression that lets visitors experience the product's personality — not just read about it — while still explaining features, pricing and status clearly.

Our solution

We turned the whole site into a desktop OS. Windows are draggable and focusable, a working terminal accepts commands (including an animated `deploy` with a progress bar), a ⌘K palette opens any app, and the pricing calculator and live status panel are fully interactive. On mobile the windows collapse into a clean stacked layout.

How we delivered it

  1. 1

    ConceptArt direction

Defined a retro-OS visual language: paper-white windows, striped title bars, hard shadows and a pixel display face.

  2. 2

    Interaction designDesign

Designed the window manager, terminal command set, palette and the responsive fallback for small screens.

  3. 3

    Build & launchDelivery

Implemented as a statically generated Next.js app with no image dependencies and deployed to Vercel.
