Backend Developer

The backend team is responsible for designing and implementing the server-side systems that power Novilance products and client applications. Their work covers API development, database architecture, authentication and authorization, business logic, integrations, background processing, caching, monitoring, and the infrastructure required to operate applications reliably in production. The team approaches backend development with a strong focus on scalability and maintainability, making architectural decisions that allow systems to handle increasing traffic and growing datasets without introducing unnecessary complexity. They work closely with frontend and mobile developers to design clear APIs and reliable contracts between different parts of an application, while also collaborating with product and QA teams to ensure that business requirements are correctly represented in the underlying systems. Security is treated as an important part of the development process, with attention given to data protection, access control, validation, and safe handling of external integrations. The backend team also continuously monitors performance and reliability, looking for opportunities to optimize queries, improve caching strategies, reduce infrastructure costs, and simplify operational workflows. Their work provides the technical foundation that allows Novilance products to remain dependable as they grow.
